The Home Team Academy (HTA) is a Department under the Ministry of Home Affairs that is committed to the training of Home Team officers in Homefront Security and Safety. The Academy aims to spearhead training relating to Intelligence in Terrorism, Counter-terrorism, Crisis Management and Emergency Preparedness. It also conducts a wide range of programmes, including Behavioural Sciences and Leadership Development. 

Co-located in the Academy are the Police Training Command, Prison Staff Training School, Immigration & Checkpoints Authority Training and Development Branch.

Brigadier General (Ret) Russell Howard delivered a workshop on "Enhanced Training for Better Operations - Stress and Simulations" and "Trends in CT Studies" to an internal Home Team (HT) audience on 22 July 2010. The workshop was attended by trainers.
