Objectives
Unlike military installations and other protected places, the challenge for “soft targets” (e.g. office buildings and shopping centres) is that by nature of their design or the function they provide, it is generally impractical (and even undesirable) for the implementation of traditional protective security measures. The Basic Building Security Course (BBSC) is designed to help raise appreciation and awareness of basic building security practices and provide an understanding of the practical means of enhancing building security for soft targets in line with recommendations made in the Guidelines for Enhancing Building Security in Singapore.
