The Hall of Honour is the spiritual focal point of HTA.
| To Honour & To Remember |
It is dedicated to honouring officers who have been decorated and awarded for valour, as well as in remembrance of officers who have died in the line of duty.
The HOH also serves to create a strong awareness of the rich legacies of our past generations of officers; whose sense of mission, dedication to duty, display of valour in the service to the nation; and inspire present and future generations of HT officers.
| Inculcation of HT Values |
Through the stories of individual courage and collective resolve; the extraordinary conduct; values and professionalism of our officers; we hope these accounts of our HT officers serve as paragons to all officers and trainees (who are in HTA for knowledge and skills training relevant to their professional domain) and inculcate in our officers the HT values of ‘Honour’ and ‘Unity’.
| Rites of Passage |
The Hall is used extensively for ceremonial events such as Oath-Taking for HT Officers graduating from the Academy, as well as fireside chats where HT leadership impart their knowledge and share their rich experiences with younger generations of HT Leaders and officers.
| Medals Display |
Dating back to 1962, the medals awarded included the Conspicuous Gallantry Medal, the Medal of Valour, the Police Gallantry Medal and the Medal of Valour (Police).
The inspirational stories of valiant and self-sacrificial acts behind the Roll of Valour are recounted in greater detail in the two interactive kiosks in the Hall. The kiosks also feature an online Roll of Remembrance, bearing the names of HT officers who died or were killed in the line of duty.
Officers who have been awarded medals such as the Singapore Civil Defence Force Overseas Service Medal and the Singapore Police Force Overseas Service Medal for various overseas humanitarian and relief operations will also have their names recorded in the kiosks.
Although the inscription of names displayed pays tribute to only a small group of officers in the HT, the stories behind each name is intended to inspire future generations of officers to come. Most importantly, the HOH helps reminds HT Officers of ‘Honour’ and ‘Unity’ – values that give us pride in our relentless pursuit of our mission.
